What I do in my downtime
What I do in
my downtime
(Hi, I'm Dr.
Joe 'BackCrack' Cipriano, a chiropractic physician in Greenville, SC. All of
the people you see in my videos are real, actual patients. My y-strap
decompression adjustments get the results people have been searching for. I'm
here to help! For appointments and other information, please visit my website, www.DrJoeBackCrack.com, and
to watch my crack-tastic videos, please visit www.YouTube.com/DrJoeBackCrack.)
If you’ve ever
watched my
chiropractic and y-strap decompression YouTube videos, you know I’m a bit
of a workaholic. I
see a lot of patients. I work so much that I’m even starting to hallucinate
y-straps everywhere, lol! (Check out some of my recent Instagram posts about
this, if you want a quick laugh.) But even though I work a lot, I play a lot
too. My life isn’t all back-cracking – where would be the fun in that? I
have two adorable kids now, and they take up a lot of my attention, in a truly
amazing way! Plus, as you know, I’m all about total health, so Mama Cip and I
spent plenty of time at the gym. But I’m also a bit of a foodie, too. Let me
explain:
Did you see my July 4th live stream? Then
you probably know that, first and foremost, I’m a family man. Between little
Angelo and my baby Evalyn, I’ve got my hands full, as every new parent knows! From
diaper changes, to temper tantrums, to nap enforcement, to tiny chiropractic
adjustments (relax! I’m just kidding about that last one), being a dad really
is a second full-time job. But those things aren’t really chores at all –
they’re fun for me. And while Evalyn is still too young to have any lasting
preferred activities yet, Angelo has a bunch! We jump on the trampoline
together, we play hot wheels together (how many do we have now?), and we’ll set
up the home ‘ball pit’ from time to time, too. It’s a blast.
But does it
sound tiring? You bet it does. I’m in the best shape of my life. I could probably
quit going to the gym and I’d still be okay. But I won’t. Real gym activity
is important for me and my wife, just as it is for everyone who wants to live a
healthy lifestyle, and regular exercise, along with good back health, are the
keys to total health. I’ve seen far too many people stop exercising
because of back pain, and the health problems can just spiral out of control
from there. If I can help it, I’ll never go down that path, and I’d encourage
you to do the same!
And the great
thing is that, because I’m in decent enough shape from exercising, I can
indulge in less-than-healthy food more often than I’d otherwise be able to.
Don’t get me wrong: I’m usually still eating healthy, and setting a good
example for my kids, but when I see surf ‘n’ turf on a menu, well that’s just
my Achilles heel. Premium fillet and tons of butter on that lobster
tail. Not so healthy, I know, but I don’t do it every day. I’ve also got soft
spots for a really good mac and cheese, Detroit-style pizza (shout out
to Jet’s Pizza, originally based in my
hometown!), and some solid red and white BBQ (I’m talking to you, Moe’s Original).
Can you believe it? I think this might be the most I’ve written in years without talking exclusively about chiropractic y-strap adjustments. But it won’t be the last time I do. This new weekly blog is cathartic for me, so on that note, I’ll hope to see you here again next week for another blog entry, and until then, wishing you good family, good health, and good food. Work isn’t everything!
